TIBCO Software (NASDAQ: TIBX) today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Spotfire Inc., a leader in next-generation interactive and visual business intelligence (BI) software, in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $195 million.

Red Hat has agreed to buy MetaMatrix, a data management software provider, for an undisclosed sum. Red Hat officials said MetaMatrix operations will be incorporated into the the JBoss division once the transaction is complete.
