April auto sales in US fell 3.7% to 1.4 million vehicles

April retail car sales were down 0.2% to 711,525 from 713,259 in April 2005. Light truck sales were down 6.8% to 736,818 vehicles in April.

  • Year to date, total vehicles sales are down 0.3% to 5,383,421 vehicles.
  • Imported brand vehicle sales were up 2.9% in April and 5% YTD to 2,414,947.
  • Total GM sales were down 10.7%, Ford Sales were down 6.8%, and DaimlerChrysler sales were down 6.2% in April.
  • Toyota sales were up 4.5% and Honda sales were up 2.6% in April
  • Jaguar sales were down 30.6% in April and 38.5% YTD compared to 2005.

 

Sales of high end cars are on an overall increasing trend in April
