Worldwide IT operations management (ITOM) total software revenue totaled $9.9 billion in 2005, a 12.6 percent increase from 2004 revenue, according to Gartner, Inc.

In 2005, the top five vendors accounted for 60% of the total worldwide ITOM market. U.S.-based vendors generated more than 95 percent of worldwide sales.

IBM maintained the top position with 24.2% of the market.
Computer Associates had 13.3% market share
BMC followed with 12% market share
Hewlett-Packard (7.3% share) recorded the largest growth in 2005 with 25.7%.
Quest Software with 3.9% share completes the top 5 vendors
