Online Video Ad Dollars to Jump 82.2%; Contribute Only 2.6% of Online Ad Biz
However, online video still makes up a
small share of total Internet ad spend as video on the Web ads will
contribute only 2.6% of the $15.9 billion total online ad spend in 2006.
But, its share is expected to surpass 10% mark by 2009 and 2010 as online
video advertising becomes as mainstream as Internet advertising, reports
eMarketer.
In an American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A) survey of its members in December 2005, over 50% replied Internet video as the "new media" with greatest growth potential in 2006, followed by Podcasting (29%) and Blogs (20%).
