eBay is the Most Popular Shopping Site with 57.6M Visits; Amazon No.2 at 42M Visits

Shoppers made 57.6 million visists to eBay.com in September, a 9% growth from year earlier, to make it the most popular online shopping destination, according to Nielsen/NetRatings data, as reported by InternetRetailer.

The Top 10 online shopping sites are: 

  1. Amazon.com, 41.9 million visits, up 18% from 35.5 million; 
  2. Target Corp., 19.9 million, up 25% from 15.9 million; 
  3. Wal-Mart Stores Inc., 19 million, up 22% from 15.6 million; 
  4. Shopping.com Network, 17.2 million, up 16% from 14.8 million; 
  5. Shopzilla.com Network, 17.2 million, up 15% from 15 million; 
  6. Dell Inc., 15.9 million, up 3% from 15.5 million; 
  7. Expedia.com, 14.4 million, down 1% from 14.5 million; 
  8. NexTag Network, 12.5 million, up 30% from 9.6 million; 
  9. Ticketmaster, 11.4 million, up 3% from 11.1 million.

The Top 10 leading consumer goods brands in September by online ad impressions, according to Nielsen’s AdRelevance Report were: 

  1. Limited Brands Inc., 359.0 million
  2. The Coca-Cola Co., 309.8 million
  3. The Procter & Gamble Co., 306.9 million
  4. General Mills Inc., 265.0 million
  5. Nestle USA Inc., 253.0 million
  6. Hydroderm Beverly Hills, 247.7 million
  7. Unilever, 232.3 million
  8. Dux, 225.6 million
  9. SABMiller plc, 185.3 million
  10. PepsiCo Inc., 138.8 million
