Real Estate Globalization: Direct Investments to Hit $600 billion in 2006

Global direct real estate investment reached a record $290 billion in the first half of 2006, up 30% from 2005, according to Jones Lang LaSalle’s global real estate capital report, ‘Record Volumes, Record Globalisation’. It believes global commercial direct real estate investment will hit a record $600 billion in 2006.

Key Economic Indicators for Today: GDP, Jobless Claims, Leading Indicators

U.S. GDP growth slowed to a 2% pace in the third quarter, a slight downgrade from the 2.2% annual rate estimated a month ago for Q3, according to final estimates released by the Commerce Department. The price index for gross domestic purchases increased 2.2 percent in the third quarter.

November U.S. Online Activity: Fox No.1 with 39.5B Page Views

In terms of page views, Fox Interactive Media topped all properties in US with 39.5 billion page views in November, primarily driven by the 38.7 billion pages at MySpace.com, based on traffic from home, work and university locations, according to comScore Media Metrix November online activity report.

Worldwide PC Shipments Grew at 9.1% in Q3; Total Units to Hit 229M in 2006

IDC reports that worldwide PC shipments grew at a strong 9.1% in the third quarter of 2006 despite a flat quarter in the United States. Outside the United States, the third quarter shipments were up 13.5% in Q3. Worldwide PC shipments are projected to increase from 229 million in 2006 to 283 million 2008.

IDC: $5.6B Application Server Software Market Forecasts 2005-2010

The worldwide application server software revenue is expected to grow under 5% CAGR between  to reach $5.6 billion in 2010 from $4.5 billion in 2005, according to a latest IDC study. However IDC estimates that the number of servers handling workload associated with application server software will increase at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 11% over the 2005-2010 forecast period.

Gartner: IT Spending Growth Forecasts Slashed Down to 2.8% in 2007

Gartner says that IT spending at larger organizations with more than $1 billion in revenue will  only increase by 2.8% in 2007. Earlier, based on 2006 first half data, Gartner had forecast that IT spending to grow 6% in 2007.

Global M&A at All Time High in 2006 : $3.7 trillion 

Mergers and acquisitions worldwide have jumped 30% in 2006 to hit a all time record $3.7 trillion this year so far, surpassing the 2000 high of $3.4 trillion, according to data released by Thomson Financial today.
