Durable Goods Orders up 1.9% to $214.2 billion in November
New
orders for manufactured durable goods in November increased $4.0 billion
or 1.9 percent to $214.2 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced
today. This was the third increase in the last four months and
followed an 8.2 percent October decrease.
Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 1.1 percent. Excluding defense, new orders increased 0.6 percent.
- Shipments of manufactured durable goods in November, up three of the last four months, increased 0.1 percent to $209.6 billion. This followed a 0.3 percent October increase.
- Inventories of manufactured durable goods in November, up ten of the last eleven months, increased 0.3 percent to $294.5 billion. This followed a 0.7 percent October increase.
- Nondefense new orders for capital goods in November decreased 0.2 percent to $73.7 billion.
- Defense new orders for capital goods in November increased $2.8 billion or 34.2 percent to $10.9 billion.
