Freakonomics is Fun, but Check Wikinomics to Spur Innovation by Millions and Prosper

has become a wildly popular book as it created a new field of study
concerning these and many other, mostly freakish, issues.

Consumer
technology retail sales from the week of Black Friday through the week
ending December 23, 2006, grew 6.5% to $8.75 billion, compared to the 10%
surge seen last year, according to NPD Group. The top five categories, led
by LCD TVs, accounted for nearly 42% of dollar volume.
Immigrant
entrepreneurs founded 25.3% of the tech startups in the past decade and
foreign nationals -- those living in the United States who are not
citizens -- contributed to an estimated 24.2% of international patent
applications in 2006, according to a new study from Duke University.
