Google Calendar Share Surged 333% in Last 6 Months: Hitwise
In
the last six months from June 2006 to December 2006, the market share of
visits to Google Calendar jumped a whopping 333%, at the expense of its
main competitors, Yahoo! Calendar and MSN Calendar, according to recent
Hitwise data.
Hitwise reports that Google Calendar, still less than a year old, overtook MSN Calendar in market share of US visits a few weeks ago, and is set to take on Yahoo! Calendar. Interestingly, both Yahoo! Mail and Microsoft's Hotmail were sending traffic to Google Calendar as its third and sixth largest sources of traffic. Google Calendar received some 19% of its upstream traffic from Gmail for the week ending 12/30/06, and 42% from Google search.

TechCrunch reports that comScore data also shows that Google Calendar has overtaken MSN Calendar recently. However comScore data indicates that Yahoo! Calendar is in a much more commanding position with page views of little over 25 million in November compared to about 15 million page views for Google Calendar.
