Foreign Direct Investments in China at Record $63 billion in 2006
China attracted a record $63.0 billion in
foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2006, up 5% from the $60.33 billion in
2005, reports
Reuters citing the official Xinhua news agency. In 2004, China received
$60.6 billion in FDI.
These figures do not include investments by foreigners in the financial sector.
Investments abroad by Chinese firms rose 32% to $16.1 billion in 2006. Such outbound investments more than doubled in 2005 to $12.3 billion.
