Harvard, with $28.9 billion, Leads U.S. Endowment Club; Top 20 are ...

The average U.S. schools' endowment funds posted a 10.7% return on investment during the year, according to the survey of 765 schools by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO). By comparison, the S&P 500 gained 13.5% in 2006.

Super Bowl XLI Could Cost Employers Over $800 million

$51 trillion U.S. Financial Sector May Lose Its Global Leadership Position: McKinsey Report

Insight Research: US Business Wireless Spend Surpasses $44 billion

Spending by businesses on wireless services accounted for over one-third of the corporate bill for telecommunication services in 2006, says a new market research report from Insight Research.  Total US business spending on telecommunications services reached just over $132 billion at the end of 2006.

US Venture Capital Investing Reached $25.75 Billion in 2006, a 5-Year High

Venture capital investment into U.S. headquartered companies increased 8% to $25.75 billion in 2,454 deals in 2006, the most annual deal flow and capital investment since 2001, according to the Quarterly Venture Capital Report released by Ernst & Young LLP and Dow Jones VentureOne.

Stock Splits 60% Below the 1999 Levels 

Despite the current stock market boom and many hitting new highs, unlike in other recent bull markets, companies have been reluctant to split their stock. Only 37 companies in the Standard & Poor's 500 index split their stock last year, compared to 91 in 1999.

Macua Tops Las Vegas; Gaming Revenue Set to Double to $11.5B by 2010

Macau, a city of 450,000 , the former Portuguese colony returned to China in 1999, has overtaken Las Vegas as the world's No. 1 gambling market with $6.485 billion gaming revenue from January through November 2006, compared to Las Vegas' $6.079 billion.
