Mobile Phone Music to Surpass $32 billion by 2010: Gartner

Mobile phone users spending worldwide on music received on mobile handsets will reach $32.2 billion by 2010, up from $13.7 billion in 2007, according Gartner Inc.

Unnecessary Software Requirements Cost $86 billion; Geek Gap Costs $100 billion

Setting false deadlines has became as chronic as breaking them, reports WSJ. .In 2006, the North American software industry spent $86 billion on software requirements that were never used, according to Standish Group, a research advisory firm specializing in project measurement.

Average American is Wasting 12 Hours per Month Due to Home Computer Problems

Some 84% of Americans say they are more dependent on their home computer now than they were just three years ago, while 65% of consumers are spending more time with a computer than with their significant other, according to a new "Cyber Stress" study by  Kelton Research for support.com.

Index of U.S. Leading Economic Indicators Rose 0.3% in December

The Index of Leading Economic Indicators in U.S. increased 0.3% in December, following a revised flat figure in November and a slight decline in October, according to the Conference Board. The coincident index increased 0.2% and the lagging index increased 0.9% in December.

Video Webcasts Attract 45% More Attendees Than Audio Webcasts: ON24 ReportĀ 

Publishers planned, scheduled and delivered 33.29% more webcasts in 2006 than 2005, with live webcasts outperforming on-demand webcasts with attendee viewing times averaging 49 minutes versus 34 minutes respectively, according to a report on webcasting trends for business-to-business (B2B) publishersby ON24.

Landline Phone Ownership Drops in US; 10.5% Households Go Wireless Only: Survey

The number of households with only wireless telephones continues to increase. Approximately 10.5% of US households do not have a traditional landline telephone, but do have at least one wireless telephone, according preliminary results from the January-June 2006 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS).

U.S. Venture Capital Investing Hits $25.5 Billion in 2006; Internet Gets 16%

Venture capital investments in U.S. surged 12% to $25.5 billion in 3,416 deals in 2006, at a 10% increase in deal volume, and the highest level of investment since 2001, according to the MoneyTree Report by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association, based on data from Thomson Financial.
