prices rose by 0.2% in January, compared to a 0.4% rise in December, according
to the Labor Department. Core inflation, which excludes volatile energy
and food components, rose by 0.3% in January, the largest one-month gain
in seven months.

U.S.
health care costs are set to double over the next 10 years to $4.1
trillion annually, or 1 dollar of every 5 dollars spent, according to a
study by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, published today in
the Web edition of the journal Health Affairs.
China
Mobile, the world's largest wireless phone carrier by users, with more
customers than the total U.S. population, added a record 4.86 million
subscribers in January, taking its total to 306.1 million users. China
Mobile stock surged 83% last year.
Consumer
spending on Internet downloads of movies and TV shows will surpass $4
billion in 2011, up from just $111 million in 2006, 
China's
export of electronic information products, including computers and
communications products, is expected to grow 14% to $390 billion in 2007,
according to China's Ministry of Information Industry, 
The
top 10 original equipment manufacturer (OEM) firms accounted for $84
billion of the semiconductor market in 2006, representing a third of all
semiconductor consumption, according to Gartner. This is a 9% increase
from 2005 when the top 10 OEMs accounted for $77 billion of semiconductors
sales.
