Online Clothing Sales Surpass Computers for the First Time; To Hit $22.1B in 2007

Americans last year spent more online on clothing than they did on computers for the first time in history, according to the first part of The State of Retailing Online 2007 report by Shop.org and Forrester Research. The report found the apparel, accessories and footwear category reached $18.3 billion in 2006 and is expected to hit $22.1 billion in 2007.

Click Fraud Rate Rises to 14.8% in First Quarter

The pay-per-click (PPC) industry average click fraud rate jumped to 14.8% for 1Q07 from 14.2% in 4Q06, according to Click Forensics. The average click fraud rate was 13.8% for 3Q06, 14.1% for 2Q06, and 13.7% from 1Q06.

Worldwide Rankings of Top Web Properties for February 2007: comScore

comScore reported the February 2007 worldwide rankings of top Web properties from its World Metrix service, based on unique visitors.  Microsoft and Google sites attarcted over half a billion unique users in February, followed closely by Yahoo with 459 million unique users worldwide.

US Online Travel Sales to Reach $146 Billion: eMarketer

US online consumer travel sales - airline, hotel, rental car, cruise and vacation package reservations - will reach $94 billion this year, up 19% over 2006, according to eMarketer estimates. Sales will remain strong to hit $146 billion by 2010, although growth rates will steadily decline.

Love Online Video: 100 Million Americans Streamed Video Content Online

While Americans still love their TVs for watching television programming and DVDs, at the end of 2006, 58% of Americans age 12 or older with Internet access had streamed some form of video content online, according to Ipsos Insight from MOTION - the company’s biannual study of digital video behaviors.

February Search Engine Rankings: Google Captured 48.1% of the 6.9 billion Searches

Americans conducted 6.9 billion searches online in February, up 1 percent versus January and 19 percent versus February 2006, according to comScore. Google Sites captured 48.1 percent of the U.S. search market, gaining 0.6 share points from the previous month.

7.2 billion Videos Online In January, nearly 123 million people in the U.S. (70% of the total U.S. Internet audience) viewed 7.2 billion videos online, according to comScore.
