reported the February 2007 worldwide rankings of top Web properties from its World Metrix service, based on unique visitors.
Microsoft and Google sites attarcted over half a billion unique users in
February, followed closely by Yahoo with 459 million unique users
worldwide.

The
average unique audience for newspaper Web sites jumped more than 22% or
over 10 million in 2006 to reach monthly unique visitors of a record 57.6
million in the fourth quarter 2006,
Worldwide Internet usage increased 10%
in December 2006 compared to December
2005,
Yahoo! continues to be the
number one online destination for U.S. internet users with over 131 million unique visitors in December,
followed by Time Warner (AOL), Microsofft, and Google sites, each of them
attracting over 100 million unique visitors,

79% of consumers are interested in receiving personalized content, and the
number of consumers willing to provide demographic information in exchange
for a personalized online experience has grown dramatically over the past
year, increasing 24% to a total of 57% of all respondents, according to
2006 ChoiceStream Personalization Survey.
As
475.7 million visitors worldwide searched the web for information on
Google sites, it displaced Yahoo as the world's second-most visited Web
site, according to comScore. More than 736 million people around the
visited the Internet last month. Google's
results did not include visits to YouTube, which it bought in October.
